Private James Bradshaw went from Westhead to the front with the Royal Welsh Fusiliers..
together with compatriots ..
But unfortunately Private Bradshaw was killed in June 1917 in Flanders and buried in a battlefield cementery.
After the war, his mother, like many other grieving relatives, wanted to visit the grave. The government gave permission and issued special passports to provide support. Each passport signed by the then Foreign Secretarty Arthur James Balfour.
